What should I ask?
Pretty simple, ask whatever you want to know about. Try to keep it appropriate, but otherwise, just be yourself!

Q: Where are you most ticklish and how ticklish are your feet on a 1-10 scale? :)
A:
There is no reason for this question to be answered so late other than I have got to check these more frequently!!!!!
So, to answer your question...I'd say my sides are most ticklish. My feet used to be really ticklish, but I've noticed over time that I can actually ignor them and not get tickled by them at all! So I'd have to say if I'm not shutting myself off to my feet...a 5 out of 10. If I have shut down my sensitivity to my feet....a flat out 0!

Q: Do you prefer to have a ceiling fan or an air conditioner in a room during hot weather?
A:
Hey...good question, though I'm a ton late with the answer!!!!
It depends on the weather. If it's a really humid day, I prefer an air conditioner only because I have Asthma. But if its just a dry heat or not too humid, a ceiling fan is better to me.

Q: Why did your site change the word, "fan," from my question to "fax"? I was attempting to ask you a fan-type question and your site destroyed my joke! Or did you change the word and destroy my joke?
A:
Now this is embarrassing...for a question to get unanswered THIS long!!!!
I had to check back...it wasn't something I did. It looks like there may have been an error with the site itself. Eventhough programming and the internet has been around for awhile at this point, there can still be "bugs' with coding that go unoticed and so you will get random typos here or there.
Sorry that happened! : )

Q: tell me about your favorite horn.............daniel z
A:
Could I be any more LATE with my answer!?!?!
Well, if we're talking alto saxophones, eventhough the horn I play (its a prototype of the Dave Guardala Earth Tone Series that eventually went into production) is very special, I would have to go with the Selmer Reference 54. Most sax players will tell you a Mark VI....and those ARE great horns! But, the thing for me is both versatility and toughness. I play a lot so I can't really afford the upkeep of a vintage horn like a Mark VI with the kind of abuse that it would be subjected to both with all of my traveling and my somewhat heavy handedness. Also, I need a horn that can produce a sweet tone, or one that will hit you in the chest, or one that can get gritty, without having to fight the horn too much. A Mark VI can let you do that, but it has to be the RIGHT Mark VI and for the money and time that you would spend trying to find the "RIGHT" one, you could have gotten a brand new Reference 54 with a lot of tred left on the tires!

Q: Which high school English teacher was most influential on your career?
A:
WOOOoooow, I'm so sorry this question slipped by me! Firstly, because its taken way too long for you to have gotten an answer. Secondly....it's a great question!
To be honest with you, I got something out of every single English teacher I have ever had! However, I think the most influential was perhaps Mr. Tamborello (Mr. T as he was known in my high school), because he made me realize that you don't have to use every fancy word that you know in order to impress people with either your writing or speaking ability. What impresses people is how directly and personally that you actually do reach them. There has to be a careful balance of efficiency, eloquence, and personality.
But once again, I learned a great deal from ALL of my teachers. I like to tell folks that I actually paid attention in English class!

Q: When are you performing out East again!!! Riverhead, Southold, Greenport??? How about the Winterfest?! Come out East!!
A:
My goodness, I've been so busy that I've missed yours and a bunch of questions to me.
I'll be out east in March during Winterfest. I forget the exact date because I have a bunch of other appearances before then and I have gotten to the point that I have to rely on my own website to know when I have to play! LOL! I will be appearing with my quartet...a slightly different line-up than usual because I'm going to be doing stuff that's a little more....funky...I guess you could say!

Q: Do you handle most of the operations it takes to line up your performances, keeping your contacts with fans, other bands, etc.? How many hours in a day are used for music related work?(
A:
Holy Cow, how did I let this question go unanswered for so long!!!! Really sorry about that!
To answer your querries, that's a big, fat YES! i handle everything. Unfortunately, there is no such thing as having a manager, particularly when it comes to jazz, unless you are already a world famous act. Also, in order to make a living at what I do, I really can't afford to hire anybody to help. So, I'm forced to do everything myself.
Regarding how many hours in a day goes towards music related work, I'd say at least 6 hrs a day. And that doesn't even count practicing (when I actually have the time to practice). Because of the long hours I need to put into this, especially the time spent on my computer researching venues, sending emails, etc. I have developed Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in both hands! Just the thing you want to get when you depend on your hands and fingers for your living! LOL!!! : )

Q: How are you
A:
How am I???? I think the first thing that comes to mind is tired. There are a lot of things brewing right now that will affect how I approach my music career in the future. In the not so distant future, I plan to make a few announcements that will reflect some changes I'll be making going forward.
Oooooooooooohhhh the suspense!!! LOL!
